Coronation Street mural in Weymouth draws fans

A Coronation Street mural in Weymouth’s Governor’s Lane car park is causing a bit of a stir amongst Corrie fans.

Created by artist Peter Sheridan, the mural depicts Corrie’s famous Rovers Return and Streetcars taxis, owned by Steve McDonald and his business partner Lloyd Mullaney in the soap.

Weymouth’s very own Streetcars were responsible for commissioning the wall art, which is now attracting Corrie fans who want to have their photo taken standing in front of it.

Weymouth restaurant to star in new BBC show

The Dining Room restaurant on St Mary Street in Weymouth, Dorset will feature in a new TV series on the BBC.

Presenter Janet Street Porter and chef Brian Turner visited the Weymouth restaurant whilst filming for the BBC’s A Taste of Britain, which showcases different dishes made from local ingredients around the UK.

The TV crew spent four hours filming at The Dining Room while chef Taher Jibet demonstrated how to make a sea bream ceviche with Dorset wasabi and sea bream crackling. A ceviche uses lime or citrus juices and salt to sear and ‘cook’ the flesh of the fish.
